Privacy Policy
This page describes what Note Local actually does with data. It is written to match the way the site is built, not as a general template.
Your audio files
Your audio is processed in your own browser, on your own device. When you choose an MP3 or WAV file, the page reads it locally, decodes it locally and runs the note-detection model locally. Your file is not uploaded to this site or to any server. There is no upload endpoint. The finished .mid file is generated in the browser and downloaded directly to your device.
The page does download its own code and the Basic Pitch model files (from a public CDN) when a conversion starts. Your audio is not part of those requests.
What the site collects
- No account and no sign-in. Nothing asks you to identify yourself to use the converter.
- No analytics, tracking pixels or advertising scripts are running on the site at present.
- No conversion history is stored. The file, the preview and the download link exist only for the lifetime of the tab; closing the tab clears the session.
- No cookies are set by the site itself.
Standard technical information (such as IP address and request headers) necessarily reaches the hosting provider when a page is served, as it does for any website. Note Local does not build a profile from it.
Third-party advertising
We intend to place third-party advertising on this site in the future. No advertising is running on the site right now. When advertising is added, those third-party providers may set their own cookies or collect data under their own privacy policies, which are separate from this one. Before that happens, this page will be updated to name the providers and describe what they do. If you do not want any future advertising-related data collection, please check this page again before using the site.
Third-party components
Note detection uses Spotify Basic Pitch (Apache 2.0) and other open-source libraries listed on the open-source licenses page. The model files are fetched from a public CDN; those requests carry no audio data. Links to external sites are governed by those sites' own policies.
Changes and contact
If the site's data practices change, this page will be revised to describe the new behaviour before it goes live. For questions about this policy, see the contact page.
